John Cena has spent the last ten-plus years building an impressive legacy in the WWE. He has been in the main event of multiple WrestleManias, won 16 world championships, and taken on some of the greats like Shawn Michaels and The Rock. While Cena has often had his hand held high at the end of the match, he has also suffered some pretty significant losses. This includes an early feud against Edge where Cena fell victim to the first Money in the Bank ladder match. Cena’s long-standing feud with Randy Orton ended in a couple of great matches that allowed Orton to finally go out on top. One of Cena’s most dominant losses came at the hands of Brock Lesnar. Rising Superstar Kevin Owens used Cena to propel his career in the WWE and eventually become a Universal Champion. Daniel Bryan did the same thing in a Summerslam main event that became an instant classic. John Cena has also had some huge WrestleMania losses against The Miz and The Rock, but one was a lot more significant than the other.

Because Cena losing has become rare territory, it’s important to look back and see how his losses have impacted the WWE as a whole. Cena losing has allowed new stars to emerge, help create all types of new rivalries, and given fans something else to cheer for. Watch and see Cena get pinned, blindsided, and suffer losses at the hands of some WWE Superstars, legends, and stars that quickly rose to the main event scene thanks to Cena.
